Giosuè e Peppino e il segreto di Pantalone

Joshua and Peppino decided to spend their old age in a pension for puppets directed by Pantalone, who together with Dr. Vanessa pursue the goal of getting rich at expenses of the poor and elderly puppets. After some vicissitudes, our Joshua and Peppino decide to intervene to protect the last knots of their decrepit wooden bodies. Will our friends subvert their present situation and safeguard a normal hospital stay for all the old puppets?

The traditional art of Is Mascareddas finds a new form of addressing a very important issue for the evolution of Puppetry: The life’s moment of humans (not only) to look back in time, with some melancholy, and balance the results of a life dedicated to passion and work. Even the puppets grow old and together with them their creators and maneuverers. Through funny and surreal dynamics, which take place around a classic animation scheme, the show will guarantee moments of reflection alternating with others of sure fun.

IS MASCAREDDAS fondata da Antonio Murru e Donatella Pau nel 1980, è una realtà culturale che ha contribuito alla diffusione e alla conoscenza del Teatro di Figura in Sardegna, tradizione teatrale fino ad allora pressoché sconosciuta nell’isola. L’idea di fondo che sostiene l’attività della compagnia è che il Teatro animato dai burattini è teatro a tutti gli effetti, con pari dignità rispetto al teatro con attori. Da subito ha svolto in Sardegna un importante ruolo di diffusione e conoscenza del Teatro di Animazione, ideando e allestendo progetti, festival, rassegne, con compagnie italiane e internazionali. Nel 1999 ha inaugurato la Biblioteca Yorick, tra i più importanti fondi di testi e documenti sul teatro di animazione in Europa (circa 4 mila volumi tra libri e riviste provenienti da tutto il mondo).
Il 20 novembre 2008 ha inaugurato un nuovo teatro a Monserrato, ribattezzato poi Teatro Mo.Mo.Ti (Monserrato Cinema Moderno Teatro Internazionale). Nel 2012, a seguito della vincita di un bando sui beni identitari, viene ristrutturato totalmente, abolendo barriere architettoniche per la sua messa a norma.
