Starting from the myth of the Minotaur, narrated by Apollodoro, Ovid, Dürrenmatt and Borges, the show is the result of the pip 2018 project directed by CONTROLUCE Teatro d'ombre. It investigates the theme of the labyrinth, as a place for the soul and self-knowledge, at once a mythical and psychological journey. The Minotaur, Ariadne, Theseus, Daedalus lead us to the shadowy depths of myth, in search of the Es, to the notes of Monteverdi and other composers.
The audience will have to find their way, together with the performers, through the folds of a labyrinth made of curtains and shadows in a continuous overlap between reality and fiction.
The performance will be repeated at 21.30, 22.00 and 22.30
CONTROLUCE Teatro d'Ombre was launched in 1994 in Turin, as a result of an encounter between the Spanish painter Jenaro Meléndrez Chas and the Italian musicians Cora de Maria and Alberto Jona, and their shared passion for theatre. The initial idea was to combine music, abstract painting and Oriental shadow theatre techniques with the aim of creating a common artistic project. CONTROLUCE has achieved success in the European Figure Theatre scene by combining shadow theatre with opera and contemporary music. It has collaborated with world-renowned musicians and writers, participating in festivals and in theatrical and musical events throughout Europe as well as in North Africa, North and South America, and in the Near and Far East.
