The show is an ode to the power of imagination!

A journey through an enchanted city takes us to a very special room.
Three blank canvases create a room and a space for projections and inside this room a table, a small piano, some objects and two flashlights.
Suddenly the light changes and two puppeteers lead us on surprising paths into the magical universe of shadows where the laws of physics do not apply, expectations are exceeded.

The shadows come in through the back door and steal our things! they go wild for their little dance of freedom.
They get bigger and smaller, they split and merge. The shadows become whatever they imagine themselves to be: they become bodies, bodies become shadows, and for a second, for a moment, we feel less alone.

Schattenwerfer is not the usual show about shadows.
It is about the relationship and dialogue, the relationship, between a shadow and its body, and it playfully questions the hierarchy of this relationship. It sharpens the view of these strange black things that follow us everywhere and stick to our feet like chewing gum, from which we cannot escape even if we are very fast.

TANGRAM KOLLEKTIV is a young Franco-German association of puppeteers seeking new experimental and performative forms of puppetry. Their work focuses on exploration and a willingness to question matter and objects.
Many collaborations to their credit: Florian Feisel, Julika Mayer, Michael Cros & Regine Westenhoeffer, Pierre Meunier&Marguerite Bordat, Ariel Doron, Joachim Fleischer, Stefanie Oberhoff, Tobias Tönjes, among others.
They have performed at international festivals such as Imaginale Stuttgart, Les Giboulées Strasbourg, FIDENA Bochum, figuren.theatre.festival Erlangen, Blickwechsel Festival Magdeburg, as well as shows at FiTZ Stuttgart, Schaubude Berlin, Figurentheater Osnabrück, Westflügel Lepzig, Schaubude Berlin.
