Gek Tessaro, award-winning illustrator for children, brings poetic and evocative stories to the stage with a technique of his own invention, drawn theatre.
He gives body to the environments and characters of the story by drawing them and animating them live, with the help of inks, watercolours, sand, an overhead projector and a large screen.
Enough to be captured in this colourful world.

GEK TESSARO is an author and illustrator of children’s books. Gifted with great communication skills, he leads image education workshops, animated readings and meetings throughout Italy. Animated by a provocative spirit and a subtle ironic vein, his work is supported by a great passion for the graphic sign. From his interest in “drawing that speaks, drawing that tells”, “drawn theatre” was born. Exploiting the unthinkable talents of the overhead projector, with a highly original technique, he gives life to narratives taken from his texts.
