That of Don Quijote is healthy madness. Driven by an inner impulse that deforms reality, so much is the desire to change it. The” crazy ” knight shows the basic problem of existence, that is, the disappointment that man suffers in the face of reality, which cancels the imagination, his own expectations, the realization of a project of existence with which man identifies himself. It is not difficult to imagine yourself like him today. Eternal knights fighting daily with the windmills of a decadent society.
The show is a hymn to resistance, to courage, an invitation to get back on your feet to fight the disappointment that you suffer in the face of reality. Man has always been forced by the events of life to repeated compromises, defeats, sorrows, but with a hint of idealism every fool could be wiser than one might believe and discover, against all appearances, the true essence of existence.
COMPAGNIA PETRILLO DANZA is founded in 2000 by Loris Petrillo, it presents a research work that is the result of his personal path contaminated by different artistic languages ranging from Capoeira to Northern European physical theatre, accompanied by a research program dictated by the physicality and personality of each of its dancers.
