BOJORQUE FotoDamián descriptive curriculum (link)

El gecko con botas is a recently established company (in Barcelona from 2016),
however, the group starts up in Indonesia where its two members and founders are given the chance to learn traditional shadow techniques in the island of Java (Wayang Kulit). During that learning period, they already start performing together in different plays, always involving shadows.
The company founders and members are the Catalan pupeteer and visual artist,
Clementina Kura-kura, and the Argentinian director, actor and playwright, Damián Bojorque. From two separate parts of the world, Southamerica and Europe, we met in a third one, in Asia. There we created and worked with the most characteristic artistic element of this continent: shadows. Since then (2014), we have been creating and performing together with such element, exploring traditional techniques, as well as including our own innovations.
So our fascination toward the world of shadows and our eagerness to keep learning and exploring contemporary approaches to shadow theater is the main motivation to join PIP this year. Getting involved in this exploration lead by an experienced and recognised company such as Controluce Teatro d'Ombre can only be enriching for us; moreover, the method, creating a collaborative piece, is close to our idea of learning by doing.
However, not only the technique, company and method are great motivations for us to take part in PIP this year, but also the topic of exploration. After our stay in
Indonesia, we remained very interested in myths, so it is currently also a line of
exploration of our company. While living in Indonesia and getting to know better Asian performing arts, we realised of the importance to both cultural life, but also daily life, of the myths and Epics (in that case Mahabbharata and Ramayana). When looking back at Europe regarding myths, which happened often when we were interpellated by our Javanese puppeteer colleagues, we realised that much of our “myths and epics”had been lost. Thus, one of the challenges we kept in our mind after we left Indonesia had to do with retaking “Western Myths” and bring them back to life through the potential of shadows. We are at the moment re-reading “Odyssey”, willing to create a
performance in the future – thinking of young audiences -. Thus, for sure working around the myth of the Labyrinth in PIP can only bring inspiration and ideas for us on how to approach the topic of the myth.
Thus, the interests and expectations of the company are both related to the content of the programme, as well as to the technical perspective. Since we are a small company, and such has been the format of our most recent creations, it is also very interesting for us to explore the possibilities of shadows in bigger formats and with the potential of bigger teams.
Moreover, from a personal point of view, the group counts with diverse and complementary interests: on the one hand, Clementina Kura-kura is fascinated about in the potential of different objects and lighting equipment to generate different effects; on the other hand, Damián Bojorque is more interested in living through the creation of a dramaturgy in a collaborative way, as well as exploring the potential of body shadow in a performance of this kind. This is why, all in all, we hope to be selected to join such a creative environment and enriching opportunity of “Proyecto Incanti Produce 2018” for further deveolopment of our career.

Pierre JacqueminDescriptive curriculum of Pierre (link)

My name is Pierre Jacquemin, I am 29 years old, I am Belgian.  I have graduated as actor to the Accademia Internazionale di teatro of Rome.
I am very interested to your search of an actor for your next  stage on “shadow theatre”.
To play at theatre is fundamental for me. I have experience with the theatre of absurdity, theatre of movement, Commedia dell'arte and I made small roles in films.
I like so much theatre for young people, the fine and delicate language of this theatre. Lately, I made a little theatre show “Kermesse” about Tati, a french actor. The show speak about a postman, a village and the circus arriving to the village and changes usual behaviours. A mix show of poetry, dance, puppet theatre and storytelling.
I like so much to find new languages, new poetry for stories, tales.
I’m very interested about object poetry, usual objects that often did their time and so they speak, express themselves. I would like to be part of your poetry and your work to play with the
body/object, discover possibilities with rhythms, sounds and physical forms
Now I am making shows of improvisation / mime / pantomime in the streets (Pierrot). Before I have toured with a company of itinerant theatre. I speak Italian and also French. Entering in contact with audience and search dramaturgic aspects about physical and mental spaces has most interest for me
Often i remember about the identity of the stories that I feel, what define them, what imaginary, what kind of winds caress or destroy them. They bring me particles that build my identity. Particles that become sense signals to conceive pieces of confinements of my personal identity. I would want to activate those explosions, feel them. Such memories ripples along a song, a text, a colour, a form, entering the empty time to take part in the “office of the wandering common curiosities”
Thank you so much

SamuelZucchiatiSamuel descriptive curriculum (link)

Short presentation that I hope will help in the analysis of my profile. For 10 years I have been doing jobs that have allowed me to grow a lot on a professional and personal level and that are giving me an increasingly multifaceted vision of the theatrical discipline in its artistic, social, educational and political aspects. Numerous experiences in both scientific and artistic training in which I took part to improve on a professional level and to nurture a lingering cultural curiosity. Here I reported only the most significant formal ones for the candidacy to which I submit my figure.
I think I have discrete organizational skills, excellent manual skills and I prefer team work. Working experiences, often coinciding with personal interests, have allowed me to realize with passion and creativity numerous initiatives in the cultural, artistic and socio-educational field, allowing me to develop the skills necessary for group work with numerous collaborators, mixed subjects (institutional, formal and informal) and economic resources for the organization of small theatrical reviews, creation of shows and the realization of projects with socio-cultural value on my territory.
What moves me to apply for "PIP - Production Incanti Project 2018 - The Labyrinth" is a strong desire to bring the puppet theater to settle deeper in the amateur and semi-professional theatrical life of the territory of Rhodense, Bollatese and Legnanese that together constitute the north-west province of Milan. In this territory theatrical associations, acting schools as well as professional and amateur companies are numerous and constitute a lively presence, but despite this vitality, the Figure Theater struggles to spread, especially because of the distrust of those who practice it in the first person.
I would therefore like to learn more and more about the "figure", the multiple forms in which it can present itself and the ways in which it can adapt to transmit heterogeneous contents. I had a first contact with Puppetry through meeting the Paper Theater of Gary Friedman (Australian Master Puppeteer), and then deepen the value of the puppet in the socio-educational field with Damiano Giambelli and the construction techniques with the teacher Paola Bassani of Teatro Laboratorio Mangiafuoco with whom I established an exchange relationship based on mutual esteem.
Adding the study of the shadows would allow me to approach an aspect of the figure still little practiced and to bring knowledge in the companies and in the places where I work.

"After the opportunity of meeting it I hope to learn more about Teatro di Figura cause I want to bring it mainly in my work e in my territory. The shadow can be a great means with potentialities for staging a lot of message. My expectations? To have fun and learn a lot!"
